The Federal Medicare card may be used as substitute identification. The card has a magenta ink bus/train image printed on its face. People with Disabilities and Senior Citizens age 65 and over are eligible for a reduced fare at all times and, for identification purposes, are issued an unrestricted "REDUCED FARE ID" card. Passengers must present both the proper identification, and the New Jersey Transit (blue) reduced fare coupon(s). The program is in effect 24 hours a day, 7 days a week however, the hours are restricted for Senior Citizens ages 62 through 64. The New Jersey Transit program is designed to provide for rides between points within New Jersey, or between points within New Jersey and adjacent states. Senior Citizens over the age of 62 and people with disabilities are eligible to use the reduced fare ticket at All Times.īlue Coupon issued by NJT, and a valid Photo ID required to purchase reduced-fare ticket. When you ride with Community Coach, you can save one-half of the regular one-way fare. Senior citizens or people with disabilities must pay the full adult fare if he/she does not satisfy the provisions of the reduced fare program.
